Awang Tengah: MoU to benefit small and medium enterprises
Special incentive package will be made available to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the state once a memorandum of understanding (MoU) is sealed on June 27.
The MoU, to be signed between SME Bank Bhd and state government, will offer special incentives to SMEs, especially those possessing permits from the state Industrial Coordination Committee (ICC).
Industrial players, who have already obtained supportive document from the Ministry of Industrial Development, will also stand to benefit from the MoU.
At a press conference here yesterday, Minister of Industrial Development Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said the forthcoming move represented an additional effort of the state government to assist SMEs.
“The signing of MoU will be a proactive step towards widening the scope of services and facilities offered for the industry of SMEs.
“It is hoped that such an effort will bring about better impact to entrepreneurs in Sarawak,” he said at Wisma Sumber Alam in Petra Jaya near here.
The MoU signing will take place at Kota Samarahan Civic Centre during the SME Week from June 24 to 30.
Awang Tengah, who is also Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment, believed that the collaboration would provide added value to ICC and relevant document holders.
