Rela values quality over quantity – Lawas MP

MIRI: Discipline and commitment to shoulder responsibilities and not numbers is the benchmark of success to Rela organisation.

Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong said compliance with instructions is important for Rela members as it is made in the interest of the nation.

He said this during the opening of the Lawas Futsal Football tournament at Long Sebangang in Lawas Damit recently.

The government appreciates the role played by this people vigilante corps, particularly in locations such as Lawas which share the borders with Brunei, Sabah and West Kalimantan, and is working to allocate appropriate allowances to members involved keeping security in the country.

“Loyalty of Rela members is important as their primary role is ensuring peace and security,” he said.

A total of 14 teams took part in the competition held by Rela Lawas for the first time in the district.
