State will continue to be business friendly, says Awang Tengah

KUCHING: The government will continue to embrace business-friendly policies in order to encourage greater private sector participation in the development of the state.
Second Minister of Planning and Resource Management Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said the private sector had proven its usefulness as a catalyst in the development of the state.
Officiating at `City One’s tenants signing ceremony’ here yesterday, Awang Tengah advised the people to preserve the existing unity, harmony and political stability so that the pace of development could be hasten.
On the proposed City One commercial complex, Awang Tengah said its construction was timely as development in the state was picking up steam and the government had secured many mega projects under the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE).
In addition to that, more and more foreigners were also coming in as Kuching continued to host major international-class events, including the Rainforest World Music Festival.
He thanked Kenbest Sdn Bhd for accepting the challenge to develop a large scale, integrated and high-end commercial complex.
“I am confident that City One commercial complex will become another landmark in the city,” he said.
Among those present were Assistant Minister of Planning and Resource Management Mohd Naroden Majais, Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) James Chan and Kenbest Sdn Bhd managing director Stephen Long. the third-quarter of next year.
