MoCS chief a ‘sick person’ — PBB Bukit Sari youth wing
LAWAS: PBB Bukit Sari Youth wing yesterday branded MoCS leader Francis Siah as a ‘sick person’ fit to be sidelined by peace-loving citizens in this state.
It said his shrill call for Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud to step down smacks of personal agenda as Siah and those behind the scene have an axe to grind against the former, accusing them of fomenting chaos although the government has been given a resounding mandate in the recently concluded state election.
Its youth leader councillor Simie Nasip said this in a press conference held together with the branch’s exco members.
He questioned the rationale of outsiders, who do not form the majority voice in the state, for trying to seek popularity by bringing up the issue when the Chief Minister has the experience in leading the government and has worked out a transition plan which would be agreed to by the top state and national BN leaders.
“The question is should an outsider from the minority daring to make a statement to seek cheap publicity aimed at inflaming the people, which is outside the norm in Sarawak, be allowed” he said.
Simie accused those like Siah of destroying the political stability and racial harmony in the state, and called on the Police and the Malaysian Multimedia Communication Commission to act against individuals for instigation whether through conventional or new media such as the Internet.
He said Bukit Sari supported the statement by PBB Youth Zone 8 exco member, councilor Awangku Jinalabedin Pengiran Jawa, in urging Sarawakians to reject Siah’s ultimatum as Taib has a proven track record of changing lives for the better.
Bukit Sari Zone 8 youths, he said, vowed to be the frontline in stopping any efforts to destabilise the state through aggressive actions.
Simie said Siah’s action was an insult to their party’s president and members have the right to respond to enemies of PBB and its leaders.
“PBB Bukit Sari will not tolerate and be on the receiving end of statements made by Siah or any other individual,” he said.
