KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Youth Section will be holding an education talk at the SUPP Headquarters here on 10 March.
In a press conference yesterday, Youth Chief Tan Kai informed that the talk, which will commence at 7.00pm, is meant to offer a general outline on the types of courses and universities SPM and STPM school leavers could enrol into.
Tan said counselling sessions for Kuching will be held at the party headquarters here from 11-17 March. On the first day, the session will be from 10.00am to 7.00pm while from the second day onwards, it will be from 7.30pm to 10.00pm.
The main purpose of the counselling session, he said, is to give detail information to students on the course and college or university they wish to enroll into.
This is an annual event organised by the youth section of SUPP as many students and parents are often uncertain of what are being offered at the institutions of higher learning, both local and foreign.
The talk this Saturday will be conducted in Mandarin by an experienced educationist while the counselling sessions will be conducted in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and English.
Meanwhile, the organisers disclosed that counselling sessions in Sarikei will be held on 18 March at the Sarikei Civic Centre, beginning at 7.00pm, Bintangor on that same day at the Kim Hock Lin restaurant from 10.00am while Sibu and Bintulu will be held from 2.00pm on the same day.
