Tilawah Al-Quran committee pays courtesy call on TYT

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Datuk Pat ing g i Abang Haj i Muhammad Salahuddin received a courtesy visit from Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Islamic Affairs) Datuk Haji Daud Abdul Rahman at the Astana yesterday morning.

Daud, who is also the Chairman of the State Permanent Committee on Islamic Celebrations, led the committee members for this year’s state-level Tilawah Al-Quran on the visit.

The aim of the visit was to invite the Head of State and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajah Norkiah to the state-level Tilawah Al-Quran as well as to declare open the event at Hotel Seri Malaysia, Lawas on 12 May.

Among those expected to be present at the event in Lawas are Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Puan Sri Ragad Kurdi Taib.

Joining the visit to the Astana yesterday morning were Limbang R e s i d e n t Ma r i a Ha sma n , Majlis Islam Sarawak Director Abang Samsuddin Abg Seruji and UNIMAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr.Yusuf Hadi.
