Avoid ‘Drunk Politics’, says Tengah
LAWAS : The people in Lawas District should avoid the “Drunk Politics” of always politiking, finding faults of their opponents, abusing and demeriting people until the communities were in disarray and the nation destroyed.
The advice came from Minister of Industrial Development, Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hassan who is also the Minister of Resource Planning and Environment at a BR1M (Bantuan Rakyat 1 Malaysia) presentation function at Sundar sub-district recently.
Tengah said all good things done by the government were criticized by the opponents and their followers but they, too, received the same benefits provided by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government as the BN was always sincere in helping all the people.
He added government help was not limited to BR1M; it was much more and covered the whole nation’s development in lifting the standard of living of the people.
“Our central government and state leaders are experienced, visionary leaders determined to bring further prosperity to the people.
“We should be thankful for what we have now and strive to safeguard the nation’s peace, unity and ensure its continuous prosperity,” he urged, pointing out there were nations in the world now which were mired in their respective national crisises.
Also present at the function were Lawas Member of Parliament, Dato Henry Sum Agong, Chairperson of Perkim Lawas Branch, Dato Hajah Dayang Morliah Binti Datuk Haji Awang Daud, who is also Tengah’s wife, Lawas District Officer, Haji Mohd Supaih Hamdan, Sundar District Administrative Officer, Ladin Atok and community leaders.
Meanwhile, 700 residents in Sundar and 750 Awat-Awat residents received the BR1M at the function.
Tengah, who is also the State Assemblyman for Bukit Sari, will also distribute the BR1M in other areas of Bukit Sari such as Punang, Merapok and Kuala Lawas this weekend.
