Komplek Anak Yatim dalam perancangan

LIMBANG: An orphanage complex for Limbang is on the drawing board, to be built after the completion of the one in Sibu, said Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail.

The proposal was to cater for the increasing number of orphans in Limbang and Lawas, who are now accommodated at Miri Orphanage Complex.

“Some of the guardians could not afford to send the children to Miri. Thus, we hope the proposal to build an orphanage complex in Limbang will be implemented soon,” Dr Rahman said at the handing over of donations to orphans by Madury Jaya Enterprise yesterday.

Madura Jaya manager Musa Burut and special assistant to Limbang MP Mohamad Abu Bakar were also present.

Dr Rahman added that the orphanage would give the less fortunate children a more conducive living environment and enable them to receive proper education.

“The facility is vitally needed. It is important to ensure the orphans are not abandoned,” he said.

Meanwhile, he thanked Madury Jaya for extending assistance and gifts to the orphans since the last three years.

“This is what we hope to see from the private sector,” he said, adding that the donation would lessen the orphans burden and enable them to celebrate the coming Hari Raya with joy.

A total of 27 orphans in the district received the donation from Madury Jaya Enterprise.
