Tragic Collision For Motorcyclist
LAWAS: The Ops Sikap that is scheduled to end next week continues to record rising cases of serious road accidents, including a fatal one here last Saturday.
A motorcyclist, Shahrin Ahad, 34, from Awat Awat here, was killed on the spot when he was involved in a head-on collision with a heavily laden lorry.
The victim, with his brother as pillion rider, was believed negotiating a bend when he crashed into the lorry that was laden with earth.
He died of serious head injuries.
His brother pillion rider Muhammad Nazrul bin Ahad, 17, suffered serious injuries to his leg.
According to sources, the motorcycle they were travelling in was believed to have inadvertently swerved into the lorry’s lane. The two brothers were heading for Sundar from Awat-Awat while the lorry was coming from the opposite direction.
The case was the first fatality for Lawas during the current ongoing Ops Sikap.
The body of Shahrin was brought to the Lawas Hospital for post mortem.
